We have compiled a list of frequently asked questions. If you need any further information then please get in touch.

Does safeguard comply with GDPR?

The simple answer is – YES!

From June 17th we will be using the Smoothwall UK Terms and Conditions and related documents, which are comprehensively designed with Data Privacy in mind to be fully GDPR compliant.

Safeguard is registered with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO). Our data centres all comply to the latest security standards – ISO27001:2013.


Is Safeguard Secure?

Simple – We encrypt all data in transit and at rest. To access safeguard at a safeguarding level, you will (by default) be asked to verify yourself. This is done with two factor authentication and you will use a 6 digit number generated by a personal device.

SafeGuard complies with EU regulations and is located on servers located in a secure datacenter. The datacenter we use complies to international standards ISO 27001:2005, ISO 27002 and ISO 27005.

We undergo regular independent security audits to ensure our service remains safe.

Are there any limitations on the number of users?

No! You can have as many staff and students as you wish.

How many schools use Safeguard?

1000’s! (That’s as precise as we can be)

We don’t publicise precise numbers as we are one of the companies listed in the DfE Cloud & Data Protection Act for schools document. This document is a checklist style system and asks suppliers to make statements on various aspects of security and data protection – one of these is advertising. This is why we don’t advertise how many schools, how many concerns or any other information which would be just inappropriate. We don’t use any of your information for advertising purposes (as you would expect).


What if we cancel Safeguard, what happens with our data?

Your data belongs to you and you can download a full copy of this at any point by using the local backup option from within your dashboard. If you need support with this then give us a call.

What support options do you offer?

Just 1 – Its included free of charge.

You will receive technical support 24/7 – You can call us anytime on 01253 364963, choosing option 2 for support.

Can we suggest changes?

Yes! SafeGuard would love to hear what features you require. This has been developed for you and as such, your views are the most important to us. We have even created a special ‘Make a Wish’ section – this is where you can request changes or features.

We read and implement every feature request we can!

Can we use Safeguard on a tablet?

Yes! SafeGuard is fully compatible with tablets and mobile devices. In fact you can use Safeguard on any modern browser.

Safeguard is so easy to navigate and understand but also should there ever be a need to ring any of the team at Safeguard up, they have been helpful and friendly and of course have the answers.
